Vegan Pop Star Billie Eilish On Cover Of Vanity FairCreated on
Vegan pop star Billie Eilish says ‘we’ve got to help the environment’ in her Vanity Fair cover interview.
The singer-songwriter, who regularly uses her platform to speak out on the climate crisis, was recently asked ‘what do you think the world will look like when you’re 80?’
‘Help the environment’
“Girl, I’m not going to live until 80, none of us are!” Eilish replied.
“Are you kidding me? We have like 10 years left… We’ve got to help the environment. I hope that the world doesn’t say ‘it’s over for you b*tches’ and then kill us all.”
The star also opened up about her issue with body image after a photo of her wearing a tank top went viral on the internet.
“Five years ago, I wasn’t really eating,” Eilish said. ” I was, like, starving myself. I remember taking a pill that told me that it would make me lose weight and it only made me pee the bed when I was 12.“
She added: ” I thought that I would be the only one dealing with my hatred for my body. But, I guess the internet also hates my body. So that’s great.
Support + Feed
The Vanity Fair interview also mentions Support + Feed – a vegan charity created by Eilish’s Mom Maggie Baird.
The publication says the initiative, which delivers plant-based meals to those in need, has been supported by Eilish ’emotionally, financially, and social media-wise’.
Last year, Eilish and her family delivered vegan food to a women’s center and hospital in Los Angeles to celebrate Mother’s Day.
On Instagram, Baird said: “We had an incredible mother’s day today. The whole family and some of our core Support + Feed team [made] deliveries today to honor mothers and nurses for nurse appreciation week!
“First to the downtown women’s center and then to the staff at MLK hospital. Thank you to everyone donating to Support + Feed who makes this possible! You made a difference today!”
